Build a portfolio, adjust it, project it forward and weigh the mix โ all without leaving the tab. Exchanges worldwide, running entirely in your browser. A dashboard, not a broker: it never touches money.
Free forever. No sign-up, no trial, no telemetry.
Add a ticker, check what it is, see how it compares, enter what you hold, project it forward, then weigh the mix โ and go round again when something changes. Five views over one watchlist, none of which sends you to another site.
Live quotes every 15 seconds, paused while the tab is hidden. Candles from two minutes to twenty years, with company fundamentals alongside.
Up to eight tickers rebased to a common start, so relative performance is readable rather than inferred from two charts side by side โ across exchanges and currencies alike.
Holdings with cost basis, plus the statistics that only exist across them: correlation, volatility and drawdown. Mixed currencies are totalled separately rather than added together.
A lognormal model fitted to each ticker, drawn as percentile bands. Where options trade, volatility comes from the option market rather than from the past.
Follow one market โ India, Germany, Japan, Canada, wherever you actually invest โ and search narrows to it while the clock reads its local hours. Switch any time, or choose All markets. It filters what you discover, never what you already hold.
Weights across your picks, with fit buttons that show what the maths suggests and are careful to say what they are not.
Most tools ask you to trust a privacy policy. This one has no server to send anything to, which is a different sort of claim โ one you can check by reading the source.
The whole list. An extension wanting more than this is doing more than this.
| Permission | What it is for |
|---|---|
storage | Your watchlist, holdings, comparison and theme. |
query1/query2.finance.yahoo.com | Quotes, candles, search, company profiles and option chains. |
fc.yahoo.com | Issues the session cookie that option chains require. |
It does not request tabs, reads no page you visit, and injects no content
script. It talks to no host but Yahoo.
Stock Scanner is a viewer. It reads public market data and draws it. There is no path through this extension by which a single currency unit could move, because none of the machinery to do so exists in it.
The holdings you type into the Portfolio tab are notes to yourself โ numbers you enter so the app can multiply them by a price. They are not a position, not linked to an account, and visible to nobody but you.
Stock Scanner is for information only. It makes no promise about the future, and nothing in it should be read as one.
Stock Scanner is free and stays free โ there is no paid tier waiting behind it. If it saved you a subscription, a coffee is a kind way to say so.
